Here is an enlarged view of the Pittsburgh Lace Group's 25th Anniversary commemorative bobbin. It is made of Ebony and has metal bands formed around the neck and tail ends of he bobbin. The tail end has 2 small squares of exposed wood where the anniversary year number 25 is engraved.
